The Energy Savings Opportunities Scheme (ESOS) was introduced by the Government in 2014. This will require large companies to periodically (every four years) complete energy audits which cover 90% of energy usage within the company to help reduce UK carbon emission. The energy assessments and overall compliance must be signed off by a qualified Lead Assessor who is registered by an approved professional body.
