The team at BCC did a thorough audit of Merlin Cinemas’ historic electricity, water and gas bills to check for any discrepancies and ensure that the client was on the best possible rates. Following this audit, BCC performed a formal tender for energy contracts on behalf of the cinema to secure better tariffs.
The BCC team also helped with the installation of new utility supplies at new sites.
Despite there being no supply history, BCC was able to construct forecast data to ensure that suppliers provided particularly competitive prices.
BCC’s team was successful in reducing the lead time for meter installation by at least two weeks, thus ensuring the new premises opened on time and taking the pressure off the staff at Merlin Cinemas.
BCC have saved Merlin Cinemas over £40k by recovering overcharges on all utilities and reducing energy costs. BCC continue to work with the cinema to check bills, resolve supplier issues, monitor energy and water consumption to ensure that costs are kept at a minimum and ensure that Merlin Cinemas staff are free to focus on other areas of the business.
As a multi-site company with a deliberately small head office team, monitoring and checking all of our utilities has always been problematic.
